While casual concepts are a dime a dozen in Nashville, fine dining can be harder to come by. Sinema's 2014 opening helped fill that void by introducing 8,000 square feet of sleek, polished space to the old Melrose theater. A nod to its location, the restaurant is outfitted with deluxe Art Deco fixtures and other Hollywood memorabilia. The upstairs lounge with its velvet banquettes and movie-themed cocktails (like The Aviator and Legends of the Fall) is a favorite spot for cocktails—particularly from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Monday through Thursday when there are stellar $6 happy hour deals—while the downstairs dining room hits it stride with a winning combination of moody ambiance and artfully plated dishes such as a colorful cashew and mushroom risotto or a delicate lobster cannelloni. Sunday brunch is popular (try the Apple Bottom French Toast), particularly due to the $30 bubble service that comes with a bottle of champagne, fresh juices, fruit purée, and flavored shots for DIY breakfast cocktails.
